Jesuits from Baltimore area communities joined the residents of Colombiere on Tuesday July 31st to celebrate the feast of St. Ignatius. This was the first gathering in the new Jesuit residence of their founders' feast day.
The Colombiere Residence, completed last September, is the home to 37 Jesuits who continue to pray and minister to the needs of the Church. The beautifully designed Chapel was filled with song led by organist Tim Murphy, violinist Laura Knutson and vocalist Julie Kurzava presented a recital of sacred music before Mass. Fr. William Rickle, SJ, house Superior, presided and preached at the Eucharist. Following the liturgy, all present shared food, drink and lively conversation to continue the celebration.
